The 2010 Saffredi (Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon) delivers gorgeous intensity and broad aromas of black berry, leather, crushed granite and lingering smoke. It’s a masterpiece on all happy fronts. The textural elegance is superb. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2025. <br/><br/>There is always a single face that identifies a region: A sole producer with the charisma and communicative talents required to perform the ambassadorial duties that bring a relatively obscure wine area to the world stage. Der Gaumen ist jetzt schon angenehm. Zeigt nicht die ursprüngliche Tiefe anderer Jahrgänge. Ein fröhlicher Jungbrunnen welchem an die nächsten 10 Jahre ohne Reue geniessen kann. 17/20 trinken LA DONNA DI GRANDI VINI Elisabetta Geppetti (im Bild) produziert mit ihrer Fattoria le Pupille mittlerweile fast jedes Jahr nahezu eine halbe Million Flaschen. Dies ist eine ideale Betriebsgrösse mit Konfektionen in allen Preislagen. Der günstigste ist der Pelofino Rosso. Dann folgen weitere Weine wie der Morellino di Scansano und der gleiche auf Rotwein auf Riserva-Level. Der Poggio Valente ist ein Premium-Morellino und gehört praktisch im Abonnement zu den besten Weinen dieser Region. Logischerweise ist aber der Saffredi, welcher erstmals 1987 offiziell auf den Markt kam, die Marketing-Lokomotive dieses tendenziell immer noch unterschätzten Maremma-Weingutes. www.fattorialepupille.
