Potentialwertung: 16/20 vorbei

It is no secret that the Moueix family has been attempting to elevate the quality of the wine produced at this vineyard that bears the name of two of Pomerol's greatest wines - Lafleur and Petrus. A new cellar has been built, crop thinning is routinely employed, and the age of the vines has become more respectable. Perhaps La Fleur-Petrus will begin to live up to its grandiose name. The excellent 1992 offers a deep ruby/purple color, and a big, sweet, jammy nose of black fruits, caramel and vanillin. Ripe, rich, medium-bodied, with excellent density, this concentrated, elegant yet powerful wine should drink exceptionally well during its first 8-15 years of life.

Producer
Château La Fleur-Pétrus
This historic château is owned by the Jean-Pierre Moueix family. Planted amongst the finest terroirs in all of Pomerol, Château La Fleur-Pétrus has been a model of consistency for over three decades. During the ‘90s and the first decade of the 21st century, the estate was expanded with the addition of a few precious parcels from Pomerol’s central plateau. This evolution was accompanied by the restoration of an elegant country house, which now houses the production facilities at the heart of Pomerol. Today, Château La Fleur-Pétrus produces one of the most elegant, smooth and refined Pomerols in all of Bordeaux. The Grand Vin is a medium-bodied Merlot and Cabernet Franc blend that with several years of cellaring will become very fine, complex and extraordinarily long-lived.
