91 Robert Parker
Another superb wine in an off year, the 1993 La Mission shows a deep plum/ruby color and a sweet nose of black fruits intermixed with charcoal and mineral. The wine is medium-bodied, with ripe tannin and elegant, concentrated richness that persists on the palate. This wine is coming into full maturity and should last for at least 10-12 years. This is undoubtedly the sleeper of the vintage. Last tasted, 9/02.

Superbly elegant, supple and lush, featuring mineral, mint, cassis, dried herb, cedar and plum complexity, soft tannins and a seductive finish. Very tempting now, but will benefit with cellaring until about 1998. ?JS
