This has a good juicy feel for the vintage, with pepper, plum, blackberry and black cherry fruit laced with tobacco leaf and green olive notes. A kirsch edge hangs on the finish. Shows better flesh and persistence than most 2008s. Drink now through 2020. 100 cases imported.

Tasting through both cuvees of Jamet’s 2008 Cote Roties showed the 2008 Cote Rotie regular bottling to be herbaceous, tannic, austere and tough to grasp. It possesses a dark ruby color as well as some raspberry and herbal fruit, but it comes across as sinewy and astringent.
