96 James Suckling
Attractive slate and stony aromas here with a sense of depth and strongly terroir-focused style. Abundant ripe dark fruit with a suave, plush and very deep-set palate. Long, classic, seamless and powerful Pomerol. Try from 2023.
92 Robert Parker
The 2016 Petit Village is the second vintage made by Diana Berrouet-Garcia. A blend of 77% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc and 9% Cabernet Sauvignon that matured in 60% new oak, it has a fragrant, quite citrus-scented bouquet with hints of orange blossom and blood orange tincturing the dark cherry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with quite a solid and structured entry. There is a little compactness to this Petit Village at the moment with that Cabernet Sauvignon imparting a slight graphite edge on the finish. This is a fine Pomerol, although I still maintain that this is not reaching its full potential given the terroir.
92 Wine Spectator
This has a pure core of ripe cherry, raspberry and cassis flavors, with polished structure and light anise and rooibos tea notes gilding the finish. Delivers a flash of mineral at the very end. Not a big boy, but there is no overextraction or overt wood here. Rather, this is built with a deft hand. Best from 2022 through 2032. 2,417 cases made. — JM Lovely blueberry, raspberry and boysenberry fruit streams through, picking up a light licorice-root hint for spine. Good energy ripples through the finish. Nice showing.—J.M.

Château Petit Village
Château Petit-Village is located on the highest point of the gravel plateau located in the heart of the Pomerol appellation. The 10.5-hectare vineyard is in a single triangular-shaped plot. Combining age-old vine-growing traditions with modern facilities, optimizes the estate’s enormous potential without having to manipulate nature. Each and every action, from picking the grapes by hand to allowing the wine to rest in oak casks, is guided by the house’s set values. Château Petit-Village wines are powerful, yet soft and well-balanced. The wines have an incomparable richness and finesse that can compete with the greatest wines of Pomerol.
