Try after 2023.91 Robert ParkerAromas of sweet cherries and berries mingled with tobacco, loamy soil and petals introduce the 2019 Meyney, a medium to full-bodied, seamless and lively wine with fine depth at the core, powdery tannins and an attractive sense of completeness. This is an understated but charming Saint-Estèphe that has turned out nicely in bottle. Producer Château MeyneyEstablished in 1662, Château Meyney remains as one of the oldest estates in the Médoc. Situated above the Gironde estuary in the Saint-Estèphe appellation, Château Meyney neighbors the famed Château Montrose. The estate is home to 51 hectares of vineyards planted on clay-gravel soils. The single-vineyard block cultivates 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. This Cru Bourgeois classified estate is now owned by a subsidiary of the Groupe Crédit Agricole – CA Grands Crus. Hubert de Bouärd acts as consulting winemaker, while Anne Le Naour plays the role of technical director.
