90 Robert Parker
This 1999 is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, and 18% Cabernet Franc. The saturated purple-colored 1999 displays a dense, flamboyant bouquet of roasted herbs, cedar, cassis, new saddle leather, and espresso. It is soft, seductive, velvety-textured, and endearing in a concentrated, lush style. It will provide enjoyment for 15-16 years. It is a top effort for the vintage.

Very attractive aromas of currants and spices follow through to a medium-bodied palate, with fine tannins and a fruity finish. Best after 2004. 13,080 cases made. ?JS

Château Clerc Milon
Assuming her father’s role, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild took over the then small village house in Pauillac until her passing in 2014, transforming the property into the glorious Château Clerc Milon that we know of today. The late Baroness Philippine headed grand innovations during her leadership. In 2007, the new gravity-feed vat room was constructed, while in 2011, they built a cellar, a half-underground barrel hall, a reception area and several tasting rooms. With its status as a Classified Growth restored, after the famous 1855 Classification, their wines are well-rounded and surprisingly approachable for Pauillac. Their 40-hectare property should not to be overshadowed by its neighbor and otherwise sister château, Château Mouton Rothschild. They continually produce quality blends with present Merlot – showing ripe and plummy components that are more than unique to Château Clerc Milon.
