Pinot Nero La Pineta 2020 150cl

The 2020 La Pineta is all Pinot Noir that sees a straightforward winemaking regime with fermentation in stainless steel and barrique aging. Only 4,000 bottles were made at this boutique estate located in Castellina in Chianti. From a warm and sunny vintage, the wine is round and ripe, showing good balance and intensity throughout. There is a linear or mineral quality to the wine that places it closer to Tuscany than to France in my mind. Surely this has to do with the unique soils of the area. I recommend this wine to those looking for a unique perspective and a slightly bigger more generous style of the grape.
