Produced from a parcel located in the upper, rockier section of its grand cru, the dark-colored 2003 Richebourg explodes from the glass with myriad spices and black fruits. Medium to full-bodied, muscular (yet refined), and boasting a luxurious velvety texture, it exhibits red cherries, candied blackberries, and cassis as well as untold quantities of spices. Its palate-staining, mouth-coating personality is packed with both fleshy fruit as well as structure-giving tannin. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2022+.

Domaine Gros Frère et Soeur
Located in Vosne-Romanée, Domaine Gros Frère & Soeur is part of the intricate group of estates owned by the Gros family. Though the name and vineyards come from Gustave and Collette Gros, it has been managed by their nephew, Bernard Gros since 1984. As a smaller domaine, even for Burgundian standards, the family possesses slightly more than 5 hectares of vines which are dispersed over 4 Grand Crus - Richebourg, Clos de Vougeot, Grands-Echézeaux and Echézeaux. The family does not shy away from new oak, therefore their wines tend to be spicy and polished with notable concentration.
