Very attractive chocolate, red-chili and cedar aromas and flavors. Lavender, too. Medium body with firm, polished tannins and a caressing finish. Pretty texture to this. It will be ready sooner than some. Try after 2024.

Château Poujeaux
Château Poujeaux holds a lofty reputation as one of the two best estates coming from the Moulis appellation, next to Château Chasse-Spleen. With a story dating back to the 16th century, the Cru Bourgeois château has consistently produced wines of Grand Cru Classé quality. More recently, in 2008 to be exact, the estate began a modern era, when the Theil family sold the property to Philippe and Mathieu Cuvelier, owners of the acclaimed Château Clos Fourtet in Saint-Émilion. The family revitalized both the viticulture and vinification methods, introducing reduced yielding, and organic farming approaches. Today, the 53-hectare single-vineyard plot sits just outside of the village of Poujeaux and produces rich styled reds. The legendary, Stéphane Derenoncourt acts as consulting vintner, adding to the team’s spirit of dedication and commitment to excellence. From vine to bottle, Château Poujeaux remains one of the most quality-conscious producers in the region, the flagship, Poujeaux, ranks amongst Médoc’s best.
