Potentialwertung: 17/20 2011 – 2024

The 2003 from Nenin reveals a dense ruby/purple color with some lightening at the rim. Its monolithic, medium-bodied personality offers sweet cranberry, mulberry, and black cherry fruit intermixed with hints of herbs, damp earth, and spice. Given the talent behind Nenin?s winemaking, this is a surprisingly boring effort. Drink it over the next 12-15 years.

Lovely blackberry and chocolate aromas with hints of minerals. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a light finish. Delicious already. Best after 2008. 2,415 cases made. ?JS

Château Nenin
Château Nenin stands as one of the grandest properties in Pomerol, lying on the outskirts of the Catusseau village. The property is home to 25 hectares of vineyards and a beautiful 19th century château. Since 1997, the estate has been owned by the Delon family of châteaux Léoville Las Cases and Potensac. The wine is a blend of mostly Merlot with smaller parts of Cabernet Franc (20%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%). Aged in 50% new oak barrels for 18 months, Nenin is a deep, fruit-forward red. The famed Michel Rolland also consults for the château.
