16 Rene Gabriel
04: Dunkles Rubin-Granat, feiner Rand aussen. Dichtes, pfeffriges Rotkirschenbouquet.

Shows sweet tobacco, seashell and blueberry aromas that follow through to a medium body, with very well-integrated tannins that are polished and fine. Just coming around now. Why wait??'89/'99 Bordeaux blind retrospective (2009). Drink now. 2,500 cases made. ?JS

Nenin has fashioned a 1999 with elegance, structure, and outstanding purity. A dark ruby color is followed by a medium-weight Pomerol offering aromas and flavors of black fruits mixed with dried herbs, minerals, and oak. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2018.
Producer
Château Nenin
Château Nenin stands as one of the grandest properties in Pomerol, lying on the outskirts of the Catusseau village. The property is home to 25 hectares of vineyards and a beautiful 19th century château. Since 1997, the estate has been owned by the Delon family of châteaux Léoville Las Cases and Potensac. The wine is a blend of mostly Merlot with smaller parts of Cabernet Franc (20%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%). Aged in 50% new oak barrels for 18 months, Nenin is a deep, fruit-forward red. The famed Michel Rolland also consults for the château.
