Lots of plum and floral aromas with hints of new oak. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins, light fruit and a subtle finish. Best after 2006. 12,500 cases made. ?JS

Château La Louvière
Nestled in Bordeaux’s winemaking cradle, Château La Louvière can be found in Pessac-Léognan, just several kilometers from the city. Benefiting from a long vinous history of over seven centuries, the current château was built by Jean-Baptiste Mareilhac during the French Revolution. By 1965 the neoclassical château was purchased by André Lurton, who worked to restore the estate’s former glory. Terroir-based vineyard management, environmentally-friendly viticultural practices, and traditional winemaking methods coupled with the judicious use of modern techniques enable La Louvière to produce dry white and red wines of great character.
