16 Rene Gabriel
02: Leuchtendes Granat-Rubin. 16/20 2004 – 2015

85 Wine Spectator
Slightly earthy, but has some good blackberry character. Medium-bodied, with silky tannins; turns a bit veggie on the finish. Best after 2006. 21,665 cases made. –JS .

81 Robert Parker
Elegant notes of damp earth, underbrush, sweet cherries, and currants arise from the modest bouquet. While a distinctive soil character dominates the fruit, it offers good richness, medium body, and moderate tannin in an elegant, stylish format. It is good to see this well-known property produce an excellent wine. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2013.

Château Beychevelle
Located in the Saint-Julien region of Bordeaux, this Classed Growth, Château Beychevelle has one of the most recognizable labels in all of Médoc. Featuring an estuary boat, the labels show a sail lowered in salute to the estates former owner, the Duc d’Epernon, an Admiral of France. Better known as the “Dragon Boat” wine, it has become one of the most sought after wines around the world, especially in China. Now a sizable 90-hectare property, its vineyards are dedicated to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and a small amount of Petit Verdot growth. More recently, they have heavily invested into the renovation of their wine making facilities, cellars, and visitor center. Today the beautiful winery, designed by Arnaud Boulain and Atelier BPM stands with glass walls allowing guests to fully partake in the winemaking process.
