This is a new wine from Ama. A balanced and pretty wine with plums, peaches and hints of walnuts on the nose and palate. Full body, with firm yet fine tannins and a chocolate, berry finish. Better in 2015 but why wait? A blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
Producer
Castello di Ama
Castello di Ama, located in Gaiole, is a premium winery in the heart of Chianti Classico. Founded in the 1970s by four Roman families, Castello di Ama has been run since 1982 by trusted winemaker Marco Pallanti and his wife, Lorenza Sebasti, who is also the CEO of the winery. While Castello di Ama is known today for producing Tuscany’s first great Merlot – their L’Apparita, they also craft two smaller versions of single-vineyard Chianti Classico blends, Vigneto La Casuccia and Vigneto Bellavista. This reference-point Tuscan grower-producer is made up of 210-hectares. Of that there are 75-hectares under vine, 45-hectares of olive trees and 100-hectares of woodland and has some of the most beautiful vistas of the Chianti Classico region. Castello di Ama creates extraordinary wines with seven reds, one white, one rosé and one sweet wine currently in production.
