Aged for 24 months in oak, the gorgeous 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is a brooding, dark wine with great aromatic purity. The fruit tones are rich and penetrating, spanning from plum, prune and cassis to spice cake, tar and black licorice. The wine's concentration is luscious and opulent. The oak element imparts lasting aromas of spice, toast and caramel but the wine already shows a good degree of integration that should help it continue its bottle evolution. Hold this wine until 2017. Argiano is one of the landmark estates of the Sant'Angelo in Colle subzone in the southern part of the appellation. A double line of perfectly aligned cypress trees marks the road that leads to this iconic Tuscan property. Argiano has had its share of ups and downs in recent years and was purchased by foreign investors a few years back. The wine style has remained the same and Argiano continues to make some of the best Brunello on the market today.

Argiano S.p.A. Società Agricola
Agricola Punica was founded in 2002, as a joint venture between Italy’s most elite winemakers and consultants. The list of all-star players includes, oenologist Sebastiano Rosa, Sardinian winery Cantina di Santadi, Tenuta San Guido under the leadership of Marchese Nicoló Incisa della Rocchetta, Santadi’s President Antonello Pilloni, and the iconic Tuscan consulting enologist, Giacomo Tachis. Fascinated by the idyllic connection of Sardina’s terroir and the Carignano grape, this extraordinary team decided to build Agricola Punica in the southwestern region of the island, caleed Sulcis Meridionale. The 150-hectare estate is divided among two vineyard sites, Barrua and Narcao. Though the land sits within the DOC of Carignano del Sulcis walls, the wines are labeled under the IGT of Isola dei Nuraghi. Today, the winery produces two stand-out wines based on the Carignano variety, the Barrua and the Montessu.
