Vini e Distillati Angelo Delea SA
Inspired by traditional Bordeaux vinification techniques, the Angelo Delea estate was built in Losone, close to Locarno in 1983. The winery established French practices, like barrel aging, in Allier and Nevers French oak, which was very rare in Ticino at the time. With attention to tradition and quality, Angelo Delea’s sons, David and Cesare are now following in their father’s lead, producing mainly local wine on their 21-hectare estate. The grounds are planted with several white varieties, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Sémillon, and a few red grapes, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. As one of Ticino’s few sources of Sémillon, along with their Bordeaux wine-making ideals, the Angelo Delea winery is undoubtedly unique to Ticino.
