I often find more similarities between Les Tosses and Dits del Terra than with the Arbossar. However, this time I found common characteristics between the 2015 Les Tosses and the Arbossar from the same year. Both show graphite and licorice, which speaks to the freshness achieved by this southeast-facing slope planted with centenary vines. It's musky, spiced and floral, with notes of blue fruit and violets, a touch of balsam, ash and incense along with really refined tannins with intense, penetrating and long-lasting flavors. It's clean, pure and delicate but also powerful and concentrated. 1,600 bottles were filled in May 2017.<br/>I tasted mostly wines from 2015, which seems like a great year; for proprietor Dominik Huber, it is a combination of the experience of the team and the work in the vineyards. The wines seem to be going from strength to strength, with great definition, delineation and freshness, more transparent to the terroir, more about the place than the varietal—even achieving beautiful floral aromas in the Cariñena, a grape often considered rustic. Not here. But this time the high-altitude Garnacha on clay and limestone soils really stole the show... And it seems like 2016, a cooler vintage, could be even stronger based on what I saw in the entry-level wines that were already bottled. They have also started a new project in the neighboring Montsant, the first vintage of which will be 2017. I tasted some samples, both white and red, including a very promising Garnacha. I'll keep you posted.
