Love the aromas to this red with currants, blackberries and hints of dark truffles. Full-bodied, with beautifully crafted tannins that are creamy and seamless. Fabulous refinement and length. Leave it in your cellar for at least four or five years. But impressive to taste or drink now. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. One of best Orenos ever made since its inception in 1999.
Producer
Tenuta Sette Ponti
Located in the heart of the Chianti region, Sette Ponti sits between Arezzo and Florence in the Arno River Valley. Sette Ponti is named after the seven bridges that connect the banks along the Arno River. Antonio Moretti, an ambitious entrepreneur helped to spark the somewhat renaissance movement of this Tuscan site. Moretti has managed to produce wonderful wines in a very short period of time. His family’s estate of 64-hectares, coordinated by Dr. Moretti Cuseri, makes three wines: Oreno – the more international of the three, Crognolo which expresses more of its sweet-fruited background of 90% Sangiovese, and an unwooded Sangiovese – Vigna di Pallino which is a cherryish based wine.
