Beautiful length and polish. Better after 2021.93 Robert ParkerThe Tenuta Sette Ponti 2018 Crognolo is mostly Sangiovese blended in with about 10% Merlot. This is a nicely balanced wine that offers the tangy freshness and acidity of the first grape ironed out and softened by that smaller percentage of the second. The wine is redolent of cherry, blackberry and plum. Its primary intensity is bright and cheerful. The finish shows pretty thickness, extraction and nicely integrated tannins.92 Wine SpectatorA beam of bright cherry permeates this round, supple red. Raspberry, earth, iron and tobacco notes play supporting roles, while dusty tannins prevail on the finish. Sangiovese. Drink now through 2032. 12,500 cases made, 4,000 cases imported. — BS Producer Tenuta Sette PontiLocated in the heart of the Chianti region, Sette Ponti sits between Arezzo and Florence in the Arno River Valley. Sette Ponti is named after the seven bridges that connect the banks along the Arno River. Antonio Moretti, an ambitious entrepreneur helped to spark the somewhat renaissance movement of this Tuscan site. Moretti has managed to produce wonderful wines in a very short period of time. His family’s estate of 64-hectares, coordinated by Dr. Moretti Cuseri, makes three wines: Oreno – the more international of the three, Crognolo which expresses more of its sweet-fruited background of 90% Sangiovese, and an unwooded Sangiovese – Vigna di Pallino which is a cherryish based wine.
