Ponnelle Pierre
Pierre Ponnelle is a historic négociant and domaine, that was first established in the late 19th century. It was founded by Pierre-Lazare Ponnelle, who’s pioneering spirit led to many experiments based aroung the fermentation process (which was still not completely comprehended at the time). Ponnelle even collaborated with Louis Pasteur, who was living in Dôle, a short voyage from Beaune. He was eventually followed by his sons as well as his grandson, Albert, who decided to eventually create his own business, and the business of Pierre Ponnelle ceased to exist. Today, Albert Ponnelle is run by his grandson, Pierre and is located in Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy.
