Producer
Masi Agricola
One of the most distinguishable Amarones on the market, the Masi brand ranks amongst Valpolicella’s leading producers. Originally derived from "Vaio dei Masi", the name itself refers to the small valley that was purchased by the Boscani family in the end of the XVIII century. The property has become one of the finest terroir sites in all of Veneto, and still remains in the Boscani family’s hands. Today, the estate collaborates with the Conti Serego Alighieri and Conti Bossi Fedrigotti families, who together, work towards Masi’s larger project, the rediscovery of Venetian’s traditional viticulture and vinification practices. Seventh generation, Sandro Boscaini is the current managing director. He continues to follow in Masi’s age-old wine-making expertise, preserving the inheritance of native grapes and techniques. For example, the use of the Appassimento method, where the grapes are laid and dried on bamboo racks racks throughout the winter before vinification, creates wines with concentrated aromas that are inimitable and regal.
