Offers sweet berry and slightly stewed notes, turning jammy. Thick and simple. Not very exciting. Drink now.
Producer
Marchesi Pancrazi
Home to Tuscany’s oldest Pinot Noir vines, even if by mistake, Marchesi Pancrazi continues to produce Italy’s finest example of this variety. Owner, Marquis Vittorio Pancrazi planted what he thought to be Sangiovese vines on his property in 1975, only later finding out in 1989 that the vines were in fact, Pinot Noir. This fortunate misstep made way for the country’s most complex, and graceful Pinot Noir productions. Their collection includes the exceptional Villa di Bagnolo, which is a Tuscan-styled Pinot Noir that is full of ripe, fruit-forward flavors.
