A bright, fruity rosé with peaches and light strawberries. Tangerines, too. Medium-bodied with a creamy texture. This is a blended wine with only 7% red wines. Pretty red fruit with the same freshness as the normal black label. Very fresh and vivid. Four years on the lees. Drink now. <br/>
Producer
Lanson
Lanson is a historic Champagne house based in Reims, which was originally founded in 1760 by François Delamotte. His son succeeded him and created a partnership with Jean-Baptiste Lanson in 1837, lending his name to the company. As export was their main market, over the years they won over the royal courts and provided Champagne to the royal families of Sweden, Spain and the United Kingdom, to whom it continues to provide wine and its bottles are embellished with Elizabeth II's coat of arms. Today, it is owned by the Boizel-Chanoine Group whose sister companies include Philipponnat, de Venoge amongst several others. Lanson is part of a handful of large Champagne houses that do not allow their base wines to go through malolactic fermentation. This has given their Champagne a specific style - one that is taut, vibrant and chiseled in its youth and sometimes needs cellaring to soften its edges. It is this character which also makes it potentially more ageworthy. They produce various Champagnes under multiple series, including: Classics, Vintage, Extra Age, Noble Cuvée, Lanson Vintage Collection and Limited Edition.
