Fermented in tank and aged for 12 months in 229-liter pièces, the 2014 Cornalin Réserve is more ripe and warm compared to the Humagne Rouge and is also provided with some herbaceous aromas. It's a bit meaty and reductive as well as spicy and needs some aeration. Silky, fresh and concentrated, this is more like a Syrah but less concentrated. It is a fruity and structured wine that is a bit closed right now, but it doesn't have the elegance, floral lightness or concentration of the Humagne Réserve. The length, however, is good and fresh. I'd keep the wine for another 3 to 5 years.
