The NV Extra-Brut Cuvée No. 743 (2015 base) is soft, open-knit and caressing. The natural radiance of 2015 comes through in the wine's ample, creamy feel. Apricot, spice, dried flowers, hazelnut and lightly honeyed notes are all beautifully laced together. The 743 is already a touch forward, in a good way, which makes it a terrific choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. The blend is 60% Pinot Noir (from Aÿ, Dizy and Hautvillers) and 40% Chardonnay (from Avize and Oiry). Disgorged: August 2019 and bottled with no dosage.

Lovely spice and apple blossom notes are an enticing, aromatic thread in this elegant Champagne, wafting from the glass and winding through flavors of ripe yellow plum, salted Marcona almond, candied ginger and toast point on the palate. Fresh and creamy, with a minerally underpinning that lingers on the fine finish. Disgorged August 2019. Drink now through 2025. 20,000 cases made, 800 cases imported. — AN

Based on the 2015 vintage and disgorged in August 2019 without dosage, the Chiquet brothers' NV Extra-Brut Cuvée No. 743 is showing nicely, offering up inviting aromas of freshly baked bread, crisp yellow orchard fruit, beeswax and dried white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and precise, it's elegantly fleshy, with an enveloping core of fruit, a pinpoint mousse and a nicely defined, saline finish.
Producer
Jacquesson
One of Champagne’s most respected houses, ranking amongst Bollinger and Krug, Jacquesson Champagne was established over 200 years ago in Dizy, France. The house has become a legendary producer under the management of the Chiquet brothers, Laurent and Jean-Hervé, who took over the estate from their father in the 1980s. The duo’s new-aged philosophies have taken a more terroir-based direction, crafting cuvées that are neither filtered, nor fined. Their zero dosage technique, creates an extreme juxtaposition between minimal sugar and extended lees aging, to produce some of the purest and most dignified Champagnes. The estate today produces four single-vineyard Champagnes, a Cuvée 700 and a Cuvée 700 D.T. The imitable style behind each of Jacquesson’s wines is effortless. Their wines are linked to the quality of the Chiquet brothers’ raw materials, typical terroirs, and most of all, tastes.
