Gosset
Among the first producers in Champagne, with a history dating as far back as 1584, Gosset is technically the oldest Champagne House in the appellation. Located in the Grand Cru village of Aÿ, the estate is currently owned by the Frapin Cognac House lead by C.E.O. Jean Pierre Cointreau. Its origin of prestige and distinction, have guided more than four centuries of production. Gosset’s classic guarantee of excellence has made their Champagnes some of the most desired wines of all time. With a considerably smaller wine production when compared to the larger houses, Gosset focuses on quality rather than quantity. Each bottle contains a high proportion of Chardonnay, is recently disgorged, and does not follow malolactic fermentation – to ensure the natural fruitiness of the grapes. The non-vintage Brut Excellence is a reliable everyday Champagne, while the Grande Réserve, Grand Blanc de Blancs and Grand Rosé wines are equally delightful non-vintages. The house’s vintage wines are a step up however, the Grand Millésime, is their first ever produced single-vintage Champagne, a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Gosset’s top cuvée, made only in the best years with an extra low dosage is the Celebris Extra Brut, while the Celebris Rosé is a welcomed twist.
