There's nice ripeness to this, attaining peach and apricot flavors, with a touch of orange. This is slim and heightened by the bright acidity, ending with a cleansing note of citrus. Best from 2012 through 2024. –BS
Producer
Dönnhoff
As the most distinguished producer in the Nahe region, the Dönnhoff estate is world-renowned for their high-quality Riesling wines. The Dönnhoff family has been producing wine in this region since the 1750s, and today, under the direction of Helmut Dönnhoff and his son, Cornelius, the estate continues to craft top wines. Helmut was awarded with the title of Best German Oenologist by Frankfurter Allegmeine Zeitung in 2014, proving his stellar capabilities. The property now consists of 25 hectares of vineyards planted to Riesling, as well as smaller amounts of Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris. Sustainably farmed, the resulting wines range from Trocken to the rare Eiswein. Dönnhoff wines are known around the world for their purity, grace and mineral precision. In particularly, their Kabinett and Spätlese productions are extraordinarily unique, rich and complex. These wines are enjoyable at a young age but have the potential to cellar for around 10 years.
