The 2015 Clos Floridene Blanc from Denis and Florience Dubourdieu has a subtle but complex bouquet with scents of white peach, citrus fruit and a touch of patisserie. The palate is very well balanced and quite phenolic in the mouth, some lovely extract here imparting a slightly waxy texture. The acidity is keen and there is impressive tension and energy on the finish. It will drink young as usual, however, such is its complexity that I am more intrigued to discover how it will age. Do as you will.

Juicy and very energetic, with pink grapefruit, lemon peel and chamomile notes bursting out from the core, backed by long verbena and honeysuckle flavors through the finish. Best from 2019 through 2021. 7,917 cases made.
Producer
Clos Floridène
This unique estate, was owned by the famed Bordeaux oenologist, Denis Dubourdieu. Lying on the outskirts of Sauternes, in the Graves appellation this property combines Denis' first name, with that of his wife, Florence, the label – Clos Floridène. Home to about 40 hectares of vineyards, the majority are planted to white varieties, Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle, while the remaining land is planted to red varieties, mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and a bit of Merlot. Producing classic and elegant wines, Clos Floridène crafts three wines, the glorious Graves dry white, a Graves Rouge and a Bordeaux Rosé.
