This shows density and structure for a 2015 with ripe tannins and bright fruit character. Full body. Chewy texture. Extremely well done for Médoc.

Château Sénéjac
Château Sénéjac is one of the better valued wines that can surprisingly impress, particularly for its price. It was created in 1860 by the de Guigné family and was actually more known for its white than its red. Over the years, the focus changed, however, most notably when the château was sold in 1999 to Lorraine Cordier (of Château Talbot) and her then husband, Thierry Rustman. Most of the white vines were leased from an another property, so when that lease expired, Thierry uprooted the little that remained and grafted them over to red. He also converted the entire 39 hectares over to biodynamics as well as introduced a super cuvée called, Karolus, an intense, richer, toastier offering produced from a single three-hectare plot of old vines that are cropped at lower yields. Since 2011, the château is now run by Nancy Cordier Bignon, who still owns Château Talbot.
