Château Potensac
One of the most famous estates in the appellation, Château Potensac is known around the world for their pure Médoc styled wines. Owing its name to its ideal location atop the Potensac plateau in the northern Médoc, the château has been owned by the Delon family for many years. Today, Jean-Hubert Delon of Château Léoville Las Cases is at helm, after inheriting the estate from his paternal grandmother, Georgette Liquard. The vineyards currently stretch over 80 hectares and are planted to a majority of Merlot and smaller amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carménère and Petit Verdot. The resulting wines are rich and fresh, with dense tannins and a nice hint of spice. Various vintages have been described by Robert Parkers as "sleepers of the vintage" or "a superb value".
