18/20 2024 – 204294 James SucklingLayered and juicy 2015 with currants, light chocolate and cedar character. It’s full-bodied, round-textured and very pretty. Extremely long and flavorful. So friendly and bright. Drink or hold.90 Robert ParkerMedium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Langoa Barton is scented of cedar and Marmite toast with black fruit and fertile earth notes. The medium-bodied palate is oaky with a good fruit core, fine-grained tannins and nice freshness on the finish. Producer Château Langoa BartonA classified Third Growth estate in Saint-Julien, Château Langoa Barton was one of the first vinous properties bought by Hugh Barton just thirty-years prior to the 1855 Classification in 1821. Today, the estate still remains in the hands of the Barton family, with eight generation Lilian Barton Sartorius at helm. The family also owns Château Léoville Barton, a Second Growth. Home to 20 hectares of vines on the southern edge of Saint-Julien, the resulting wines are true to the appellation’s traditional style.
