An exceptional location for a top quality vineyard, located in the heart of the Right Bank, Château La Fleur Boüard lies on the Pomerol plateau, close to Saint-Émilion. This outstanding terroir was purchased by Hubert de Boüard de Laforest, along with his wife Corinne and their four children, Coralie, Stéphanie, Matthieu and Quentin in 1998. Fortunuately, the vineyards were well cared for so it took very little time for him to create the style of wines he had wished. The estate is comprised of 25 hectares, of which 11 are on sand intermixed with clay and gravel and the best parcel, an 8.5-hectare block, is on deep gravel and clay. The de Boüard de Laforest family also co-owns Château Angélus, 1er Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion. He is also a consultant for prestigious vineyards in Bordeaux, as well as abroad. At La Fleur de Boüard, he makes three wines: La Fleur de Boüard; La Fleur Saint Georges, a second wine; and Le Plus, a premium cuvée that is aged in 100% new oak barrels for 33 months.
