92 Robert Parker
A blend of 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Bellefont Belcier has a deep garnet-purple color and classic notes of warm plums, blackberry preserves and cedar chest, plus wafts of lavender, clove oil and chocolate box. The medium to full-bodied palate is impressively well-poised with soft, rounded tannins and just enough freshness supporting the juicy black fruits, finishing with a bright, cheery skip in its step. Lots to love here!

Château Bellefont Belcier
One of the lesser known estates in Saint-Émilion, Bellefont-Belcier takes its name from its 17th century owner, Louis-François de Belcier. Today, it is owned by three associates, including Dominque Hébrard, the former owner and winemaker of Cheval Blanc before it was sold to LVMH. Despite being less known, its vineyards are incredibly well-placed on Saint-Émilion’s famous plateau, and they can claim Larcis-Ducasse, Tertre Roteboeuf, Troplong Mondot and La Mondotte as adjacent neighbors. In 2006, the château was promoted to Grand Cru Classé. With Michel Rolland as consulting oenologist, their wines tend to be modern in style with a fruit focused core and ageing in 80% new French oak casks.
