04: Mittleres Rubin mit lila Schimmer. Schlankes, kirschiges Bouquet mit floralem Touch. Gefälliger Gaumen, weiche Tannine, rote Johannisbeeren im leicht pikanten Finale. (16/20). 08: Aufhellendes Granat, grosser Rand aussen.

Château Beauregard has an ideal location on the southern side of the famous Catusseau plateau in Pomerol, with a magnificent gravel and clay terroir. Beauregard's history dates back to the 12th century. The Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem (the former name of the Knights of Malta) had a small manor house here which served as a stopover for pilgrims on the road to Santiago de Compostela. The Beauregard family built an impressive villa in the 17th century. This was in turn replaced by the present-day château designed by a student of Victor Louis and built during the Napoleonic period. This elegant 18th century building personifies Beauregard's history and universally acknowledged charm. Beauregard has an unusual blend of grape varieties, including some 30% Cabernet Franc. This variety is often discreet when young, but adds considerable freshness and elegance over time. Brilliantly fruity when young, Château Beauregard displays all the depth and smoothness of the great wines of Pomerol over time.
