Based on Bordeaux standards, Château Poitevin is quite a young estate. Founded in the 1950s by René Poitevin, the estate has grown considerably in quality and size over the decades. In 1991, third generation, Guillaume Poitevin took over the property and completely transformed Poitevin’s role in the wine world. Guillaume decided to vinify their wines in house and this massive undertaking paid off. Château Poitevin was promoted to a Crus Bourgeois property in 2003. Today, the estate consists of 41 hectares of vineyards planted on alluvial-gravel soils. Poitevin wines are now known for their modern style, revealing freshly ripen fruits, well-integrated oak and an incredible balanced finish.
