This remains the legend. Very dark color ruby. Masses of crushed raspberry and blackberry on the nose. Lots of vanilla and violet, as well as hints of tangerine
Producer
Azienda Agricola Voerzio Roberto
Among the La Morra commune terroir, in the heart of the Langhe, the Roberto Voerzio manages six plots of Barolo vines. They represent the most highly esteemed sites in the region – Brunate, La Serra, Cerequio, Rocche dell’Annunziata/Torriglione, Vecchie Vite dei Capalot e dell Brunate, and Sarmassa. The winery was founded in 1986 by Roberto and his wife. Described by many as an Italy’s ultimate cult winery, the estate prides themselves on their modernist views, and extremely low yields. Actually, his success stems from what are considered the lowest yields of fruit in the Barolo zone. His limited production produces almost one bottle per vine. The resulting wines are fashioned away from the classic tannic Barolo style, taking on a modernist approach that create neither overly extracted nor oaky blends. Voerzio’s passion shines through, he creates age-worthy wines from even the smallest of vintages. His products are always of the upmost quality, as he is known to be among the world’s most gifted winemakers.
