A pretty red, delicate and laced with strawberry, cherry and earth flavors. Though subtle, the finish lingers with a mix of earth and tobacco details. Drink now through 2018. 1,480 cases imported. –BS

Antinori-Tenuta Pèppoli
Situated just five kilometers northeast of Antinori’s famed Tignanello estate is their Tenuta Pèppoli. Home to over 100 hectares of land, 50 are planted to vines, a majority of Sangiovese, although there are very small amounts of Merlot, Syrah and Malvasia as well. While the Antinori family purchased this estate in 1985, the property itself, as a working vineyard, dates back as far as the 1300s. Located in a small valley, Pèppoli’s vineyards are situated in the perfect spot for Sangiovese production. The vineyards benefit from an ideal micro-climate and mineral-rich rocky soils. The resulting wine is a fruit-forward, lively Chianti Classico DOCG. The property is also home to almost 30 hectares of olive groves, which the family uses to produce an extra-virgin olive oil under the Pèppoli name.
