Albert Bichot
One of the more prominent and better quality négociants in Burgundy, Maison Albert Bichot was established in 1831 by Bernard Bichot, the grandfather of the first of a series of Albert Bichot. Currently at the helm is Albéric Bichot, who became CEO in 1996 and has revitalized his family's business. They produce 157 different appellations from all Burgundy sub-regions from both their own 4 domaines and purchased grapes. Their domaines are run separately - one each in: Chablis (Domaine Long-Depaquit), Côte de Beaune (Domaine du Pavillon), Côte de Nuits (Domaine du Clos Frantin) and Côte Chalonnaise (Domaine Adélie). They have a vinification cellar in each of these establishments to better manage the winemaking process in order to better guarantee top quality. And this quality has not gone unnoticed. Over the last 10 years they have won a variety of awards including "Red Winemaker of the Year" in 2004 at the International Wine Challenge, "Best White Burgundy" Trophy at the 2009's Decanter Wine Awards and "White Winemaker of the Year" in 2011 at the International Wine Challenge.
