An outstanding sleeper of the vintage, the 2005 may turn out to be one of the finest examples yet of this modern-styled St.-Emilion. Nicely oaked, ripe but not over-ripe, it possesses a deep ruby/purple color as well as sweet scents of pain grille, kirsch liqueur, and black currants. Ripe, medium to full-bodied, and rich, with good glycerin as well as freshness, and a long, heady finish, this succulent offering should be enjoyed over the next 10-15 years.

Very concentrated, with blackberry, coffee bean and vanilla. Full-bodied, with lots of pretty fruit, velvety tannins and a long, rich finish. Slightly pushed, but this should come together with bottle age. A powerful young red. Best after 2013. ?JS

Extrem dunkle, auffallende Farbe, Purpur mit schwarze Reflexen darin. Kompottiges Bouquet, schwarze Kirschen, Dörrfrüchte, frisch gerösteter Kaffe, Pumpernickelbrot. Im Gaumen malzige, etwas extrahierte Süsse, Vanilleschote, wiederum viel Dörrpflaumen, reich und mit einer tollen Prise Erotik. Vielleicht nicht besonders typisch als St. Emilion, aber das ist man sich ja von einem La Couspaude mittlerweile gewohnt. (18/20). 07: Röstig, Mokkanoten und Pralinen. Im Gaumen ziemlich extrahiert wirkend, mehr Knochen wie Fett und somit noch auf Harmoniesuche. Schmeckt nach Allem - nur nicht nach St. Emilion. trinken (2010 - 2022

Château La Couspaude

Il piccolo e singolare Château La Couspaude possiede 7 ettari di vigne al centro di Saint-Émilion. La tenuta produce solo 3000 cartoni di vino l'anno e i vigneti sono piantumati principalmente a Merlot, con quantità minori di Cabernet Franc e Cabernet Sauvignon sull’altopiano calcareo. Il nome La Couspaude deriva da “La Croix Paute”, usato per descrivere la croce che ancor oggi demarca l’incrocio di fronte alla tenuta, punto d’incontro per i pellegrini in viaggio verso Santiago di Compostella. Questa magnifica proprietà è nella famiglia Aubert da più di 100 anni. Essi continuano a sposare la tradizione con il terroir e creare vini maturi, opulenti e corposi.
