92 James Suckling
A firm and silky red with berry, dried meat and stone character. Some paprika. Medium to full body, polished chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. One of the best reds from here yet. Blend of merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, syrah and malbec. Drink now or hold.
91 Robert Parker
Rich and textured, with loads of upfront charm, the 2014 Limoux Domaine de Baron’Arques checks in as a blend of 46% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Franc, 13% Syrah, 9% Malbec and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon. Like all vintages here, it was raised in barrels, with roughly 25% being new. It offers up lots of currants, spicy oak, licorice and herbs in a medium to full-bodied, textured style that does well in the vintage. It’s already drinking nicely, yet will keep through 2024.
