Originally founded by two Englishmen in 1670, Warre’s reputation today boasts a long history as the oldest British Port company. A pioneer in the field, Warre’s productions represent the best of tradition and quality, turning out great Ports year after year. With their own 350-year history in Port trade, the Symington family acquired Warre’s in 2006. Currently, six members of the Symingtons are involved in the day to day activities. The estate encompasses several great properties in Portugal, including Quinta da Cavadinha (46 hectares) in the Upper Douro region, Quinta do Retiro Antigo (40 hectares) in the Rio Torto Valley and Quinta da Telhada (35 hectares), which is found in the most remote areas of the Douro Valley. The family’s unrivalled experience in the Port industry has ensured Warre’s consistent production of outstanding wines, from traditional Late Bottled Vintage Ports to 20-year-old Tawnies to their characteristic Warrior Reserve Port that has been produced since the 1750s, Warre’s is certainly a legendary Port producer.
