Turley Wine Cellars

Created in 1993 by Larry Turley, the Turley Wine Cellars has been producing some of the greatest expressions and highly rated examples of old-vine Zinfandel, followed by Petite Syrah and Charbono (otherwise known as Bonarda in Argentina, Douce Noire in Savoie, and others). Brother to winemaker extraordinaire, Helen Turley, Larry grew up in the south of the United States in Tennessee and Georgia. In the mid-70s, when he moved to California he met Spring Mountain’s future winemaker, John Williams. They became quick friends and business partners. Together they established Frog's Leap Winery. Eventually Larry sold off his half, hankering to work on a smaller project, that’s when Turley Cellars was born. Starting with the production of only 5 wines, Turley now makes 28 separate wines from 35 unique vineyards.
