The Tedeschi family name, in many ways has become synonymous with Valpolicella. Powerful, elegant, rich – these are just some of the adjectives used to describe Tedeschi’s quintessential production. Nicolò Tedeschi founded this wonderful company in 1824, through his inviting personality and intellect, the winery has become one of the greatest producers in the Veronese region. Thanks to the family’s consistent dedication to the art of wine-making, the estate is currently managed by fifth generation Tedeschis: Antonietta, Sabrina and Riccardo. Riccardo, takes the leading role, acting as both the oenologist and export director. Two traditional vinification techniques are still used: the drying of fruit before fermentation – which yields deeply colored and concentrated wines, as well as the ripasso method - where the un-pressed must of Amarone is drained and utilized to produce more powerful wines. The strong link to family heritage, combined with the emblematic viticultural and vinification practices have led to the creation of wines that are distinguishable by both style and character, each bottle is a true Tedeschi.
