Patriarche was originally established as a négociant in 1780, located in the Couvent de la Visitation, a former convent with vaulted ceilings. They produce wines from each Burgundian appellation, with varied price points. Today, Patriarche Père et Fils wines are available in over 85 countries. In 2012, it was purchased by Groupe Castel, a large French conglomerate beverage company, which owns many wine estates throughout France, including Château Beychevelle.
