In a matter of a few short years, Olivier Bernstein has risen to the upper echelon of Burgundy producers. As a rather new micro-négociant, the company was established in 2007 and concentrates on crafting limited quantities of high-quality wines from Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte de Nuits. His first vintage, the 2007, already received rave reviews from both Jancis Robinson and Allen Meadows. While Bernstein mostly sources his grapes, he works very closely with the growers managing the vineyards first-hand. In 2012, he managed to purchase two vineyards of his own – Gevrey-Chambertin “Les Champeaux” and Mazis Chambertin. Today, Bernstein’s portfolio includes exclusively red Burgundys, coming from three Premiers Crus (Chambolle-Musigny “Les Lavrottes”, Gevrey-Chambertin “Les Champeaux” and Gevrey-Chambertin “Les Cazetiers”) and seven Grands Crus vineyards (Charmes-Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot, Clos de la Roche, Bonnes-Mares, Mazis-Chambertin, Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze and Chambertin).
