June is dedicated to a selection of great Italian wines: please welcome Tenuta di Trinoro & Passopisciaro.
Tenuta di Trinoro was set up by Andrea Franchetti: starting from a rough and wooded land in the far south-western Tuscany, he gave life to the estate. He then decided to do the same with Passopisciaro, on the slopes of Mount Etna, by recovering vine terraces previously abandoned.
From both his estates, Franchetti succeeded in getting a rich and diversified selection of extraordinary, complex wines, expressing the characteristics of the vintage and the particularities of the places.
Almost all red wines are made of the typical grape variety Nerello Mascalese, except for Franchetti, which is a blend of Cesanese d’Affile and Petit Verdot. The white wine we are proposing is 100% Chardonnay. Each wine is named after its cru and each come from vineyards of different ages and are each on a lava flow with different minerals, grain size, and altitudes.
All wines are ready for immediate delivery from our cellar in Melano.
