Karthäuserhof
Historic and legendary, the Karthäuserhof estate was officially established back in 1335 as a monastery. Today, this property, lying within the tiny Ruwer Valley, represents the eighth oldest winegrowing estate in the world. The estate sits alongside the small village of Eitelsbach, close to the Ruwer and Mosel rivers. Amazingly, the Karthäuserhof estate has been family owned since 1811, and today, seventh generation, Albert Behler is at helm. Based in one of the smallest winemaking regions in Germany, Karthäuserhof holds a total of 20 hectares of vineyards planted on the finest sites. The estate has been an icon Riesling producer for centuries, producing intense, complex yet elegant wines ranging from dry to nobly sweet.
