Beauty and uniqueness enticed this family, originally from Rome, to Ama in the early Seventies. Bound by their love of wine, they replanted the vineyards and introduced new production methods, building a new winery with the end goal of producing Chianti Classico and returning Ama to its former glory.
Castello di Ama is in the historic heart of Chianti Classico, in central Tuscany, between the Florence and Siena provinces, where vineyards and olive groves are edged by woodland in scenery that was depicted in Renaissance artist Benozzo Gozzoli’s Magi Chapel, in Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence.
