Piero Busso

Piero Busso's philosophy has always been clear: to make wines that speak of the territory. The company was founded in 1948 by Guido, Piero's father. Piero Busso took over the reins of the winery, and in 1982, he produced the first bottle of Barbaresco Albesani. This step clarified the direction that would guide production from that moment forward. Piero Busso's wine respects the territory, the grape variety, and the fruit. With the acquisition of new Crus, Busso has expanded the range of wines produced.

In 1985, Barbaresco Bricco Mondino was introduced, vinified from grapes sourced from Balluri. In 1999, it was the turn of Barbaresco Gallina, followed by San Stunet (Treiso) the following year. In 2010, Barbaresco Albesani Viti Vecchie was born. Only grapes from vines planted in the 1950s are used to produce it. Busso has always advocated for respect for the land, he reached: no herbicides or chemical products, sustainable treatments, a green approach long before today's widespread environmental awareness. Wine is a reflection of the territory.
